All seven provinces have new chief ministers after four provinces—Madhes, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim—elected their executive heads today. Province 1, Bagmati, and Gandaki had already elected their chief ministers. The Janata Samajbadi Party of Nepal's Saroj Kumar Yadav was elected the chief minister of Madhes province. The UML's Leela Giri was appointed the chief minister of Lumbini, and the CPN-MC's Rajkumar Sharma was appointed the chief minister of Karnali. The UML's Rajendra Rawal was appointed the CM of Sudurpaschim. The UML's Hikmat Kumar Karki was appointed the CM of Province 1. Shalikram Jamkattel of the CPN-Maoist Centre was appointed the CM of Bagmati, and Khagaraj Adhikari of the UML was appointed the CM of Gandaki.
