aespa first concert SYNK:Hyper line a two-night stint at Seoul

Aespa is an international pop phenom and million-sellers whose concept is as real as it is fantastical. They exist as both real-life idols and cyberpunk heroines, with digital avatars algorithmically created from their data.

Kwangya, an intermediary metaverse character at the centre of Aespa's story, is a place where anything is possible; it's a place where you can exist outside of the confines of the real world, for better or worse. Karina describes their members (pronounced like "eye") as their best friends, culled from their online identities and personal data.

They were deep in preparation for their very first concert, SYNK: Hyper Line — a two-night stint at Seoul's Jamsil Arena. Karina, Giselle, Winter, Ningning, and Aespa are all trainees under SM Entertainment. The standard idol trainee system is a difficult crash course in singing, dancing, rapping, and social media etiquette. Ningning, the youngest member, trained for five years before debuting with Aespa in November 2020.

The training period is an opportunity for artists to grow individually as artists, where they work on their skills and develop certain assets. Karina is often called an all-rounder or an idol who's proficient across all disciplines, which is why K-pop is such a phenomenon. Giselle, Ningning, and Winter were all drawn to the entertainment industry at an early age. Giselle was born in Seoul and attended an international school in Tokyo, where she excelled in the arts. Ningning competed in the second season of China's Got Talent at eight years old and became part of SM's pre-debut trainee team. Winter was inspired by a kindergarten crush on Kwon Sang Woo and her fascination with people on stage.

Winter's piercing vocals and cold expressions make her fascinating to watch. She can be both "Salty and Sweet." Karina played three instruments in middle school and was inspired by Girls' Generation's "Into the New World" in 2007. She now performs alongside Girls' Generation members Taeyeon and Hyoyeon as a part of SM's rotational girl group, Girls on Top, with WINTER. She sees idols as a beautiful illusion, but also a reality of being online in the 21st century, where we spend four to five hours a day on our devices.

Their English single "Life's Too Short" grapples with social media toxicity, with Giselle singing, "Some people are so mean, all behind a phone screen." It is a rare moment of vulnerability from a group. Aespa has become one of the leading girl groups of their generation after their hit single "Next Level" topped the charts in South Korea in 2021 and catapulted them to global fame.

Their follow-up, the No. 1 single "Savage," cemented them as unstoppable, powered by an addictive refrain, a hyperpop dance break, and Winter's now-iconic "Oh my gosh, don't you know I'm a savage?" Their Savage EP sold more than 1.42 million units in its first week alone. They broke their own record with 2022's Girls, which cracked the Billboard 200 and delivered "Illusion," a potent pre-release track that builds on the group's bold sonic identity and penchant for sticky, hypnotic hooks. Their success transcends the charts, as their faces are all over sheet masks, makeup products, outerwear, fine jewellery, sneakers, and finance apps.

Last fall, they attended Paris Fashion Week on behalf of the brand, and Gisele describes the "surreal" experience as a turning point. The relationship between an artist and their fans is unlike any other bond, and aespa is expanding their reach even further into the future frontier of fashion with their new digital capsule collection. The capsule collection is a partnership among luxury e-commerce platform The Dematerialized, PAPER, SM Entertainment, and Warner Music Group, and it is radicalising how people interact with their clothes. In the metaverse, designs aren't limited by fabrics and physics, and people can express themselves however they want.

A new version of the Civilization game is in progress

It has been almost six years since the release of the last serise of the Civilisation game, developer Firaxis has announced that it is work in progress for the new version. The studio did not reveal much about the new game, but they did say that Ed Beach will be leading the creative direction. Beach has spent his significant time of the last 15 years working on the series, most recently as the lead designer on the last released Civilisation VI. Sid Meier, a legend in the video game industry, created the classic turn-based strategy game Civilisation.

The goal of the game is to establish a mighty kingdom that will last forever. Dominate the globe by creating and leading a civilisation through the centuries, from the Stone age right on up to the age of Information and Technology. You'll go to battle, negotiate treaties, advance your culture, and more as you compete against some of history's most powerful figures to build the greatest civilisation the world has ever known. Civilisation VI introduces new methods to shape your planet via interaction. Cities may now grow geographically throughout the globe, new opportunities can be discovered by active study into technology and culture, and competing leaders will pursue their own goals based on their unique pasts as you compete for one of five possible game outcomes.

In a press release issued this week, Take-Two Interactive—parent company of Firaxis—announced the news. Several workers shifts at the studio were reported in the statement. Studio manager Steve Martin is leaving Firaxis after more than 17 years in the role, which he took up from Firaxis co-founder Jeff Briggs in 2006. Martin has decided to leave the firm. Former COO Heather Hazen is taking over day-to-day management of the studio and will now report directly to Firaxis's CEO. "I'm happy to have this chance to continue on the studio's famous tradition," Hazen stated after hearing that Firaxis is working on the next installment in the renowned Civilisation game. I am honoured to be given the chance to continue the studio's rich history.

The head designer of the Civilisation series remarked, "I'm happy to be working with some of the top developers in our business, and we have plans to take the Civilization franchise to thrilling new heights for our millions of gamers across the globe." Here at my company, we have some of the most talented programmers in the business. It was announced on Friday that Jake Solomon had left his position at Firaxis. Despite being one of the most prominent designers at the firm thanks to his contributions to the XCOM series and Marvel's Midnight Suns, the designer has opted to quit the company after 23 years of service." Despite his fondness for the process of making tactical turn-based games, Solomon noted on Twitter that "it's time for other, better individuals to take that sector ahead." "This new fantasy is like a bright bulb shining in my brain." We need to go give chase right now."

Amazon want staff to return to work in May.

Photot Source : Google Image

Starting in the month of May, Amazon conside that the employees to take at least three days off each week to spend away from the workplace. The corporation unveiled the approach in a document that was issued on Friday and was ascribed to Chief Executive Officer Andy Jassy (via CNN).

According to Jassy, in favour of the regulation, that a hybrid work arrangement would "strengthen" Amazon's corporate culture and foster greater employee cooperation. This was her justification for allowing hybrid work arrangements. it would not be an easy to bring thousands of people back to the offices throughout the globe, so we'll give the teams who need to conduct that task some time to design a strategy. We are aware that it will not be perfect right away; however, as our real estate and facilities teams continue to iron out the kinks and ultimately keep evolving how offices to be set up to work, the office experience will gradually get better over the course of the upcoming months.

Amazon made an announcement not long after the COVID-19 pandemic, and it said that the company thought employees will return to work in October of 2020. This timetable kept being pushed back by the office as fresh waves of the coronavirus caused cities all around the globe to go into lockdown. Activision, the parent company of Blizzard Entertainment, has confirmed that starting in July, workers of Blizzard would be called for the office attendence at least three days each week. The date of Amazon's announcement aligns with this news.

Amazon has had a situation quite similar to that which has occurred at Blizzard, in which a significant number of workers have organised in order to criticise the practises of the company. JFK8, a facility on Staten Island, was the first Amazon workhouse to be unionised. It gained notoriety when the majority of its workers voted to unionise in the previous year. JFK8 is known as "the first unionised Amazon workhouse." The decision was made in response to an announcement by Amazon at the beginning of the year stating that the company will be laying off more than 18,000 employees.

ChatGPT is an advanced language processing technology developed by OpenAI

ChatGPT is an advanced language processing technology developed by OpenAI. It was trained using text databases from the internet and 300 billion words were fed into the system. The end result is a Chatbot that can seem eerily human, but with an encyclopedic knowledge. However, academics, cybersecurity researchers and AI experts warn that ChatGPT could be used by bad actors to sow dissent and spread propaganda on social media. The potential of language models to rival human-written content at low cost suggests that these models may provide distinct advantages to propagandists who choose to use them. This could expand access to a greater number of actors, enable new tactics of influence, and make a campaign's messaging far more effective.

AI systems could improve the persuasive quality of content and make it difficult for ordinary Internet users to recognise as part of co-ordinated disinformation campaigns. Josh Goldstein, a co-author of the paper and a research fellow at Georgetown's Center for Security and Emerging Technology, says that generative language models could produce a high volume of content that is original each time, allowing each propagandist to not rely on copying and pasting the same text across social media accounts or news sites. However, access to these systems may not remain the domain of a few organisations, as more actors invest in state-of-the-art generative models, which could increase the odds that propagandists gain access to them. Gary Marcus, an AI specialist and founder of Geometric Intelligence, an AI company acquired by Uber in 2016, says that even if platforms such as Twitter and Facebook take down three-quarters of what those perpetrators spread on their networks, there is still at least 10 times as much content as before that can still aim to mislead people online.

The surge of fake social media accounts has caused a major headache for Twitter and Facebook, and the quick maturation of language model systems like Chat-GPT can only exacerbate the problem. Both the January 2023 paper co-authored by Mr Goldstein and a similar report from security firm WithSecure Intelligence warn of how generative language models can quickly and efficiently create fake news articles that could be spread across social media, further adding to the deluge of false narratives that could impact voters before a decisive election. However, if misinformation and fake news emerge as an even bigger threat, should social media platforms be as proactive as possible? Some experts think they will be lax to enforce any of those kinds of posts. Luís A Nunes Amaral, co-director of the Northwestern Institute on Complex Systems, argues that these fake posts are meant to infuriate and divide people, which drives engagement.

Rihanna's Super Bowl Halftime Performance

Rihanna's live performances was at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards, when she was honoured as Video Vanguard. The Barbadian singer, composer, and fashion entrepreneur proved that she was eligible for the award with a series of themed performances that transformed the Madison Square Garden stage into a dancehall, a lightning-studded storm cloud, and a gorgeous all-white band recital. From the same year has a listless succession of psych-rock jams, soul songs, and ballads, all of which serve to highlight her casual brilliance in singing across genres.

Rihanna had a tough upbringing since her mother had to deal with her alcoholic and abusive father. After just hearing two of her songs during her audition, Jay-Z recruited the teenage singer to h
er Roc Nation label, confirming her assumption that America was the key to a successful music career. The first time her voice was on 2005's "Pon de Replay;" it was a delicate but raspy thing, blessed with a formidable vibrato and a depth of range that sneaked up on us when she trotted effortlessly across the high notes in 2006's "Tainted Love" flip "S.O.S." and 2007's New Order interpolation "Shut Up and Drive," and when she leaned into her low end on "Rehab."

Rihanna released seven studio albums in
the course of eight years, cemented her place at the top of the pop charts by embracing new musical styles, providing radio-friendly hits to a wide audience during tough times for R&B artists, and collaborating with artists as diverse as Coldplay and Jeezy. The album Anti followed the career of a singles artist with devastating impact who was sick of hearing that she didn't produce great albums, a falsehood that stunning album cuts like 2012's "Get It Over With" from Unapologetic should have put an end to. Her public presence and an aura of unruffled calm seemed to ooze from her every move, and we fell in love with her as her catalogue matured. The other girls pretended to be shy while Rihanna was talking trash.

After a night perfermence in 2016 is that the next seven years would put admiration of Rihanna's distaste for predictable career moves to the test as she became a billionaire, launched several businesses outside of music, and rebuffed questions about her next album with the same snark that used to be reserved for her naysayers. Apart from a few selected guest appearances on tracks by Kendrick Lamar and N.E.R.D., the singer didn't release much new music for the remainder of the decade, and she seemed to get bored of the constant speculation about a new album in the comments sections of her social media posts. A pop star whose last tour took place during the Obama administration landing the highest-profile gig in the country four years after she turned down the opportunity to play the same event in solidarity with Colin Kaepernick, who had been effectively blacklisted for kneeling during the national anthem at games, is an odd choice. "There are things inside that organisation that I do not agree with at all," she told Vogue that year. (The alliance between Jay-Z and the NFL, which caused a firestorm when the rapper-mogul declared Kaepernick's protest over, gave Black musicians and businesspeople some clout in the league. The NFL claims it wants to "End Racism," but its ongoing absence of Black head coaches and the Kansas City Chiefs' dedication to branding that Native American organisations have considered disrespectful cast doubt on that claim.

The event highlighted the singer's present dedication to motherhood by showing an unexpected baby bulge only months after the birth of her first son with A$AP Rocky, and also reintroduced us to Rihanna the live performer by leading us through her back catalogue. All of this mystery was packed into a cool, collected performance that saw the singer float in the air on a suspended platform while roaring through songs from all corners of her extensive catalogue; it's a testament to the Barbadian icon's strength, to a career dedicated to making the difficult look doable. Even though she only performed 13 songs, Rihanna told Apple Music's Nadeska Alexis last week that she had gone through almost 40 different iterations of the set list while preparing for the show. Is there any way we could have gotten "Man Down"? (The inclusion of the Ye collaborations "Run This Town" and "All of the Lights" was intriguing but not unexpected; it was his Saint Pablo tour that pioneered the floating-stage thing, right? Back when things were easier

It was risky to kick off the show with "Bitch Better Have My Money," and the absence of ballads like "Take a Bow" and "Stay" in favour of the raunchier "Rude Boy" and "Pour It Up" gave the spectacle a faintly reckless air that counterbalanced the hard-fought seamlessness displayed as the star was shuttled onto and off of the moving platform, which resembled a ship's deck. Fireworks were sent off above the stadium whenever the singer's harness strap needed to be attached or removed, directing the attention of the crowd upwards.

Rihanna's performance at Super Bowl XXX in 1996 was a homage to the 1996 Super Bowl XX extravaganza, in which Diana Ross sang "Take Me Higher" and then left the field in a helicopter. She has the same skill with pop ballads, R&B tunes, and dance music as her predecessor. The set included some sharp changes, with "Bitch Better Have My Money" leading into "Where Have You Been," and "Rude Boy" following "We Found Love," but the lone survivor kept her composure the whole time. They were unnecessary. As the latest in a long line of women giving memorable performances while pregnant, she held court in a blood-red dress, surrounded by a swirl of dancers in white, soft-launching a new kid by hosting a kind of metaphysical conception to the tune of "Work" and "Wild Thoughts." Beyoncé and Cardi B also used television to share the reveal.

Strangely, in 2021, when the Weeknd performed a similarly upbeat medley that was low on fancy footwork, the conclusion was not that the halftime performance lacked superstar guest stars or sophisticated choreography. This was not the spot to go seeking for Rihanna's backflipping skills, considering we have never seen her do any of that before and this was her first public performance after giving baby. (Last winter, when Snoop, Dre, and Eminem two-stepped on top of trailers, you got your life. You don't need an 8-count to go down, right?) Video game-inspired set design, the star's ability to dominate any environment, and a never-ending string of tunes from at least half a dozen radio formats were all mentioned before the show started starting.

Perhaps it won't be remembered as fondly as other Super Bowl performances, such as the Coldplay show from 2016 (during which Beyoncé's stunting made it easy to forget that she wasn't the headliner), Michael Jackson's two-minute statue pose from 1993, or Whitney Houston's flawless "Star-Spangled Banner" from 1991. (Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni's emotional response to Chris Stapleton's rendition of the national anthem predicts the video will go viral. You either have faith in your friend's ability to sing your spirit out of your body, or you goof off and find out. What Rihanna's Super Bowl performance accomplished really well was convey the message that she is a determined, self-motivated individual who played the fame game so effectively that she went from a bungalow to a billion in less than 20 years, and her singles still smash. There are still many unanswered issues about her decision to return to live performances after she previously rejected them. We've been fans long enough to ask whether or not she has any more upcoming gigs, but we also know that she's free to respond whenever she wants. Making history once again will have to do for now.
